Physician-guided medical weight loss

Physician-guided weight management with anti-obesity medications tailored to you. Care is provided by a board-certified physician who manages your overall health, not just weight-loss-only prescriptions. Designed to move forward without navigating insurance coverage gaps, denials, or prior authorizations. The medical weight loss program membership covers physician oversight, secure messaging, and program-related labs. Prescription medication is billed separately by the pharmacy, typically from $149/month when prescribed. Currently available to Texas residents only. We plan to expand to additional states in the future.

What does the program cost?

  • $150 charged at signup, then $150/month until you cancel (email [email protected] to request cancellation)
  • Medication from $149/month when prescribed - paid to the pharmacy; cost varies by drug, dose, and manufacturer program
  • Online trainer coaching coming soon for nutrition, activity, and strength training support that complements your medical treatment.

How does it work?

  1. 1. Program enrollment

After intake and signup payment, schedule your telehealth visit. Your physician reviews your history, sets goals, and determines whether GLP-1/GIP-class therapy is medically indicated, with personalized telehealth support.

  2. 2. Labs

Bring recent lab results (no older than 3 months) if you have them. If labs are outdated or additional program-related testing is needed, your physician orders labs through Quest as part of the program, covered by your active membership with no separate lab bill.

  3. 3. Treatment & follow-up

When prescribed, medications are sent to Eli Lilly or Novo Nordisk pharmacies (FDA-approved manufacturers, not compounding pharmacies). You choose home delivery or local pickup at a participating pharmacy.

    Ongoing membership includes:

    • Access to your physician via secure messaging between scheduled visits
    • Monthly refills
    • Repeat labs to track cardiometabolic profile changes

    Frequently asked questions

Will I need to stay on GLP-1 therapy long-term?Show

For many patients, yes. Obesity is treated as a chronic condition. In obesity medicine practice, ongoing GLP-1 or GIP/GLP-1 therapy is often needed to keep weight off after it is lost and to support blood sugar, blood pressure, lipids, and other cardiometabolic goals that lower long-term cardiovascular risk. If medication is stopped, weight regain is common and some metabolic benefits may fade. Your physician will personalize how long you stay on therapy, dose changes, lifestyle support, and when to reassess; there is no one-size-fits-all stop date.

How soon might I see results?Show

Many people notice appetite changes within the first few weeks after dose escalation. Meaningful weight change usually builds over months. Obesity medicine guidance often reassesses response around 12–16 weeks on a tolerated dose; if weight loss is inadequate, your physician may adjust the plan, dose, or medication class.

What happens if I stop the medication?Show

Clinical trials and long-term experience show that stopping anti-obesity pharmacotherapy often leads to gradual weight regain unless strong lifestyle habits and other treatments sustain results. Your physician can discuss tapering, maintenance strategies, and follow-up before any change.

Are injectable and oral options equally effective?Show

Not usually. In large clinical trials, weekly injectables have produced the highest average weight loss, often about 15–22% of body weight over roughly a year depending on the medication and dose. On the other hand, oral options tend to average less weight loss, often about 5–12%, and may come with stricter daily dosing rules (for example, taking the pill on an empty stomach and waiting before eating). If your goal is the strongest average weight loss, injectables are generally superior. Your intake includes a comparison to help you state a preference, and your physician confirms the safest, best-fit option for you.

Can I message my physician between visits?Show

Yes. Between visits you can reach your physician securely by secure messaging for side effects, medication questions, and other program-related concerns when medically appropriate. This is not for emergencies. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department for life-threatening symptoms.

    Are lab fees extra?Show

No. Program-related lab testing your physician orders through Quest Diagnostics is included in your $150/month membership while you are an active member. You will not receive separate lab invoices for those program orders.

Where do medications come from, and what is the starting medication price?Show

Your $150/month program membership does not include medication. When prescribed, therapy is dispensed through Eli Lilly or Novo Nordisk pharmacy programs (FDA-approved manufacturers), not compounding pharmacies. You pay the pharmacy directly; monthly medication cost typically starts around $149/month depending on drug, dose, and program. Your physician confirms eligibility and the best option at your visit.

Is medical weight loss covered by insurance?Show

LiteCare Medical Group PLLC is cash-based and does not bill health insurance for this program. That keeps pricing clear and helps you avoid treatment delays from insurance denials, prior authorizations, and appeals. Medication product costs are paid to the pharmacy per their program pricing.

How do I cancel my weight loss membership?Show

LiteCare does not offer self-service cancellation on the website at this time. To cancel your medical weight loss program membership, email [email protected] with the subject line "Membership cancellation request." Include in your message: • Full legal name • Date of birth • Phone number • The email address used when you paid (Stripe checkout) • Confirmation that you want to cancel your medical weight loss program membership Our team will confirm cancellation after verifying your account. Recurring billing is stopped in Stripe after confirmation. Allow a few business days for processing; if your request arrives just before a scheduled charge, one additional billing cycle may still occur; contact us if you have questions. Cancelling your LiteCare membership does not automatically stop pharmacy medication shipments or charges from Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk, or other pharmacies; talk with your physician about medication changes. Program fees already paid for completed visits are generally not refundable. Urgent telehealth visit fees are separate one-time payments, not part of these memberships.
